Electrical Transformer Buyers serving West Palm Beach

If you have transformers to sell in West Palm Beach, the fastest route to a real number is nameplate photos and a rough quantity. We price against the working secondary market for this equipment, subtract our own removal cost openly, and send back a written itemized offer the same business day.

The NAP of the Americas in Miami anchors Latin American traffic and a dense carrier hotel cluster, while hurricane-season generator turnover keeps standby sets moving through the state year-round. Our purchasing desk is based in South Florida. For West Palm Beach specifically that density helps: we already move crews through Miami, Tampa, Orlando and Jacksonville, so mobilization becomes a scheduling question instead of a cost problem.

What we buy

Pad-mount and unit substation

Oil-filled pad-mount transformers and unit substations from 75 kVA through 10 MVA, loop-feed or radial, with or without their primary switching. These are the units sitting on a pad outside the building or in a vault feeding the service entrance. We test for PCB content, handle oil containment during the move, and provide the manifests that go with it.

Dry-type and cast coil

Ventilated dry-type and cast-coil transformers from 15 kVA through 3 MVA, including the 480V-to-208V step-down units feeding PDUs and the K-rated units specified for harmonic loads. Dry-types move easily and resell quickly, so they usually carry a strong number relative to their weight.

Isolation, K-rated and specialty

Isolation transformers built into PDUs and RPPs, K-4 through K-20 rated units, drive isolation transformers, harmonic mitigating transformers and three-phase autotransformers. If it is copper or aluminum wound and it stepped voltage in your facility, it is in scope.

03

How a project runs

Documentation travels with the job: certificate of insurance naming your entity, W-9, a signed purchase agreement itemizing each asset and its price, PCB or oil manifests where applicable, and weight tickets or a bill of lading for what leaves the West Palm Beach site.

Transformer value is driven by kVA, winding material, voltage class and condition, and copper-wound units are worth meaningfully more than aluminum. Nameplate photos are the single most useful thing you can send us — they resolve kVA, primary and secondary voltage, impedance and winding material in one shot.

04

Manufacturers

Most common in this market: Square D, Eaton/Cutler-Hammer, GE/ABB, Siemens, Hammond, Federal Pacific, Acme, Jefferson, Howard, Olsun. Unusual brands are still purchased — they simply price against a thinner buyer pool.

05

What you are actually buying from us

01

We do the decommissioning

Our crews rack out the hardware, de-energize and pull the electrical distribution, recover refrigerant, drain glycol, cut and cap piping, and break down containment and cabinets. You are not hiring a broker who then hires a rigger who then hires a hauler. One company, one point of contact, one insurance certificate.

02

We do the loading

Rigging, lift and crane work, dock plates, pallets, stretch wrap, load bars, straps and the trucks themselves are ours. Overhead busway comes down on lifts. Generators and chillers go out on cranes. Servers leave palletized and manifested. Nothing about the load-out becomes your problem.

03

Payment before the truck leaves

You are paid in full before equipment leaves your dock — wire, company check or cashier's check, your choice. No consignment, no percentage of eventual resale, no invoice you have to chase. The racks stay where they are until the money has landed.

04

Drive destruction, documented

Every data-bearing device is degaussed and physically destroyed, on your floor if you prefer. You receive a certificate of destruction listing serial numbers and a chain-of-custody record signed at each handoff, formatted so your audit team can reconcile it against your asset register.

05

The room is left clean

Floor tiles reset, penetrations patched, abandoned cable removed, debris hauled, and the space swept. Where a landlord or lease requires a specific restoration standard, we work to it and document the result with photographs before and after.

06

Written offers that hold

Quotes are written, itemized by category, and hold for thirty days. If your process needs a formal bid document, a W-9, a certificate of insurance naming your entity, or a purchase order reference on the offer, say so and it is on the paperwork.

Also buying in West Palm Beach

If this equipment is coming out as part of a wider project, we buy the rest of the room too — IT, power and cooling:

Three-phase, modular and monolithic

UPS Systems

We buy three-phase uninterruptible power supplies out of live and decommissioned white space: modular frames, monolithic units, matching battery cabinets and the static switches that go with them.

10 kVA – 2.5 MVA modules
Floor-mount, RPP and rack PDUs

PDUs

Floor-mount PDUs with integral transformers, remote power panels, and metered or switched rack PDUs by the pallet — we buy all three tiers of distribution.

50 kVA – 1000 kVA floor units
Overhead track, tap boxes, elbows

Busway

Overhead busway is the most reusable thing in a white space and the most commonly thrown away. We buy full runs, tap-off boxes, elbows and end feeds.

225 A – 5000 A runs
LV and MV, ATS, breakers

Switchgear

Low-voltage lineups, medium-voltage metal-clad gear, automatic transfer switches and loose breakers — bought as complete lineups or section by section.

480 V – 38 kV lineups
Diesel and gas, enclosed or open

Generators

Standby diesel and natural gas generator sets, sub-base and belly tanks, paralleling gear and radiator packages — running or not.

100 kW – 3 MW standby sets
Air-cooled, water-cooled, CRAH/CRAC

Chillers

Air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, cooling towers, CRAC and CRAH units, pumps and dry coolers — the whole mechanical plant.

50 – 2000 ton capacity
Compute, storage, network, GPU

Servers

Rackmount compute, storage arrays, network gear and GPU nodes — bought by the rack or by the hall, with documented data destruction.

Single racks – full halls

Data Center Infrastructure

Cabinets, containment, cable tray, raised floor, fiber and copper plant — the structure everything else was mounted in.

Frequently asked questions

What transformer sizes do you buy?
From small 15 kVA dry-types up through 10 MVA substation units. There is no upper limit that matters in practice; large units simply need a rigging plan and sometimes a crane, both of which we price into the offer.
Do you test for PCBs?
Yes, on oil-filled units where the nameplate does not already certify non-PCB. Testing protects both of us: PCB-contaminated oil changes disposal requirements and cost, and we would rather know before the unit is on a trailer than after.
Is a copper-wound transformer worth more than aluminum?
Substantially, yes. Copper windings carry both higher resale demand and higher material value. The nameplate usually states winding material; if it does not, our technicians can determine it on the survey.
Can you disconnect and remove the transformer yourselves?
That is the normal scope. We coordinate the outage with your electrician or the utility, de-energize, disconnect primary and secondary, remove grounding, rig the unit out, contain any oil, and haul it. You are buying one contract, not three.
What about transformers still in service?
We buy those constantly — most transformer purchases are tied to a replacement or a facility shutdown. Tell us the planned outage window and we schedule around it, including nights and weekends.
Do you actually come to West Palm Beach, or do we have to ship it?
We come to you. Our crews mobilize to West Palm Beach and handle disconnection, rigging, loading and hauling. You are not responsible for crating or freight.
How soon can you look at equipment in West Palm Beach?
Written offers go out the same business day from photos or a list. Site visits in West Palm Beach are typically scheduled within a few business days, sooner when we already have a crew moving through Miami, Tampa, Orlando and Jacksonville.
