Buying data center equipment in Washington

We purchase retired and surplus data center equipment throughout Washington, from single units to complete halls. The Westin Building Exchange in Seattle is the Pacific Northwest's primary interconnection point, and cheap hydro power in Quincy and Grant County built a hyperscale cluster that now retires equipment in volume. Our own crews handle de-energization, rack-out, rigging, loading and haul-off, so the offer you accept is the whole scope rather than the first line of it.

Power in Washington generally comes through Puget Sound Energy, Seattle City Light, Avista, Grant County PUD, and freight moves on I-5, I-90, I-405 and SR-167. We do the decommissioning

Our crews rack out the hardware, de-energize and pull the electrical distribution, recover refrigerant, drain glycol, cut and cap piping, and break down containment and cabinets. You are not hiring a broker who then hires a rigger who then hires a hauler. One company, one point of contact, one insurance certificate.

We do the loading

Rigging, lift and crane work, dock plates, pallets, stretch wrap, load bars, straps and the trucks themselves are ours. Overhead busway comes down on lifts. Generators and chillers go out on cranes. Servers leave palletized and manifested. Nothing about the load-out becomes your problem.

Payment before the truck leaves

You are paid in full before equipment leaves your dock — wire, company check or cashier's check, your choice. No consignment, no percentage of eventual resale, no invoice you have to chase. The racks stay where they are until the money has landed.

Drive destruction, documented

Every data-bearing device is degaussed and physically destroyed, on your floor if you prefer. You receive a certificate of destruction listing serial numbers and a chain-of-custody record signed at each handoff, formatted so your audit team can reconcile it against your asset register.

The room is left clean

Floor tiles reset, penetrations patched, abandoned cable removed, debris hauled, and the space swept. Where a landlord or lease requires a specific restoration standard, we work to it and document the result with photographs before and after.

Written offers that hold

Quotes are written, itemized by category, and hold for thirty days. If your process needs a formal bid document, a W-9, a certificate of insurance naming your entity, or a purchase order reference on the offer, say so and it is on the paperwork.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have crews in Washington?
We mobilize our own crews to Washington rather than subcontracting the work to a local rigger we have never met. Distance shows up in the removal line of the offer, not in whether we take the job.
Which Washington utilities do you coordinate with?
We work around whichever utility feeds the site — in Washington that is usually Puget Sound Energy, Seattle City Light, Avista, Grant County PUD. Where the service entrance, primary switchgear or a utility-owned transformer is involved, the utility has to schedule the cut, and we plan the removal around their date.
How does freight work out of Washington?
I-5, I-90, I-405 and SR-167 carry most of what leaves Washington. Sites near those corridors are cheaper for us to service and the saving is reflected in the number rather than kept.
Do you buy a single unit or only whole rooms?
Both. A single UPS, transformer or chiller is a normal purchase. We prefer whole rooms because mixed lots let the valuable equipment carry the low-value material, which is what makes a project finish clean.
When do we get paid?
Before the equipment leaves your dock — wire, company check or cashier's check. On phased projects, per load.
Can you handle regulated data from a Washington facility?
Yes. Drives are inventoried by serial and destroyed on site or at our facility under video, with a certificate listing every serial number. Tell us your compliance regime at the quote stage.
