Pre-mobilizationA decommissioning is a sequencing problem before it is a labor problem. We own the whole sequence — survey, de-energize, de-rack, demolish, recover, rig, haul, document — and we buy the equipment, which is what turns a cost center into a payment.

IT decommissioning comes first: inventory by serial, de-cable, de-rack, separate drives under chain of custody, and palletize. Then the physical layer — cabinets unbolted, containment disassembled, ladder rack and tray removed, structured cabling pulled back, floor tiles and pedestals lifted where the raised floor is coming out.
Electrical demolition follows the outage plan: distribution de-energized and verified, PDUs and RPPs removed, busway sections dropped, switchgear and switchboards disconnected and rigged, UPS frames and battery cabinets removed with batteries properly manifested, transformers de-energized with oil contained, generators disconnected including fuel line isolation and tank handling.
Mechanical work runs in parallel: refrigerant recovered under EPA 608 by certified technicians with documentation, glycol loops drained and disposed, piping cut and capped, CRAC and CRAH units removed, chillers and cooling towers rigged out, pumps and condensers taken with them. Finally the space is swept, penetrations noted, and the room handed back broom clean for the landlord walkthrough.
Rooms that still carry load get phased. The default order is IT and racks first, because they can usually be removed circuit by circuit without touching the plant. Then distribution, once each branch is confirmed dead. Then the power and cooling plant, once the last critical circuit has been transferred or retired.
The phasing is written into the offer, with the outage windows each phase requires. That document is what keeps facilities, security, IT and the landlord aligned, and it is why our projects do not end with somebody improvising in a hall at two in the morning.
